Grandma and Alcohol
Grandma Barbee had a strong aversion to alcohol in any form. She would even refuse to take medicine if it contained alcohol.
Mom used to bake a superb fruit cake and often gave some to the Barbee's. She provided the recipe but, of course, left out any reference to the brandy she always poured freely over the cake for weeks before serving it.
Grandma Barbee often commented on her failure to duplicate the cake. Grandad Barbee just smiled to himself as he enjoyed another piece.

A tale of Grandpa Barbee
One Day Grandpa Barbee was working in a field by the road from Talequah and a black sedan stopped. The occupant got out and went up to the fence where GP met him. He identified himself as a federal agent and told GP that he was looking for a still thought to be in the area. GP demured saying that as a Baptist minister he would be the last to know about a still. The agent agreed but asked him to keep his ears open and report anything he might finde out.
What GP didn't know was that the still was on his farm and Uncle Harold was running it !
