The binocular camera

I have been playing with the camera and, on inspection, decided that it doesn't shoot through the binocular optics. It has a very short focal length lens which permits it to be in focus over a large difference in distance. I took three pictures of the same subject; one in focus, one far out of focus short and one far out of focus long. All three downloaded in perfect focus. It feeds the computer in real time if it is turned on and hooked up so I'm going to try it with the Leica optics I have and see what happens. I have to get it working on the PC laptop first. It works fine on my main PC.

Gotcha !

I usually say that it costs 300 dollars in repairs every time I take the MH out. I was beginning to crow that it only cost me 30 dollars this time. I just tried to go get gas and it got a block and died. I suspect the fuel pump-- a 6oo dollar part plus labor (its in the gas tank)

OUCH ! :)

The trip home.

I'm Home! I had breakfast with Dave and pulled out about 950. I needed gas so I searched all along Nob Hill for one I could maneuver through. No luck, so I continued on to SR84 alongside I595. At Flamingo road, I knew I had to get it there or turn back. The station didn't have any signs out but it was CLOSED! I drove on to Nob Hill. Antother station - - CLOSED-- the road was too narrow for me to make a U turn so I turned into one of those gated communities hoping to turn around at the ever present circle. The welcome center had a parking lot with only one entrance and exit. I had to unhitch the truck and turn around and then hitch up again. That was a great way to waste most of an hour. I finally found gas on University and turned back to the West. The reswt of the trip was uneventful although I did waste a bit more time trying to find the right road back to I75 after getting gas again. I pulled in about 6:30, fired up the generator for light and got everything unhitched and stored for the night.

After a while I tried to check my E-Mail. The apple said I didn't have a signal. I booted the main pc and it couldn't access the internet either. After a few minutes I checked the cable to the router and all returned to normal.

I think I'll turn in and worry about other things tomorrow.

Blogging

Ok so all I had to do was go get the apple :(

I am house sitting for Robin while I am supposed to be helping David with house jobs. Rob is coming back Tuesday and Dave's big electrical problem is solved. I run out of Cholesterol meds on Monday so I now plan to go home on Tuesday. I finally got the Binocular camera working by loading the program on Mitches machine. It wouldn't run on the Gateway laptop and doesn't have any software drivers for the Apple--bummer. Where are the apple lovers at Roxio? They wrote the software.

Playing Ball

I have always beena little disappointed that my doxies wouldn't play fetch. Not that I want a Dexter who would drive me up the wall; but just an occasional game of fetch.
Well, in her dotage, Muffy is almost there. Sometimes, in the morning, she comes to me wagging her tail obviously wanting something. I found that if I throw the tennis ball at those times, she will chase it and bring it back near, if not to, me. This happens three or four times and then she takes it to her bed or just leaves it where it landed.
Buster, on the other hand no longer chases his squeaky. He will still go get it and squeak it but he won't carry it around like he used to.

The Party

A good time was had by all. Rheta Driggers and Bill Vineyard announced their engagement. Rumor was ahead of them by about a month but they delayed the announcement until after Thanksgiving so they could clue Billo's kids.

Sunday morning I discovered raindrops were falling where my head rests. Looks like the rear window seal is failing. So far this trip has only cost me 30 dollars but I think the leak would eat up the additional 270 if I had it done.

Empty page

I hate empty pages so I guess I'll post. My Christmas cards are gone and the outside decorations are done. It remains to be seen if I ever get the lights on the tree. I'll be in Palm Coast for the weekend for the Old Liars Christmas party. This is my dry run for the motor home before I start South for Christmas. I cooked a 10 lb turkey the other day so drop ins are definitely welcome

The Pepper

The other day I bought an jalapeno pepper. I don't know for sure why I did it. I am not great on spicy foods. I have to be careful about heartburn. Maybe I have been watching too many cooking shows. But anyway, I bought it.

I have thought about cutting a little off and trying it in a salad. I thought I might roast it for some exotic Mexican dish. I even thought about burying it but that might mean that I would have a whole crop of the durn things next season.

Before yesterday, I would probably have left it in the refrigerator until Dick Engle arrived on his next trip East. He would have an idea for sure; and it would be a gasser.

Dick, we are going to miss you!
