RSS

I keep trying to get everyone on RSS, because it's great. And folks are just like, "Nah... I don't like computers." Or, "Me be luddite." Or some such. Anyway, don't take it from my nutty self. Even Wired thinks RSS is cool.

Lots of news sites and blogs support a format called RSS. RSS has abstracts of all of the recent articles on the news source or blog in a structured format. There are RSS readers that will read this data and tell you what articles are new and provide a summary. You can 'subscribe' to all of the feeds from your favorite blogs and news sites, and then be alerted when they have new content without having to constantly check them.'

On Macintosh the best reader is NetNewsWire Lite from www.ranchero.com .
