He's been a fan of Stephen King since he read Night Shift. I read several of the short stories and novels, but the bejeezus didn't get scared away until 8th grade. I started "The Stand". And after the initial virus story in the first few chapters I couldn't finish it. I closed the book and it stayed under by bed, terrifying me until mid-9th grade, when i finally got the courage to finish it.
