Media advice for soldiers

The Bush machine even creeps into how our soldiers speak. They are told to say:

We are a values-based, people-focused team that strives to uphold the dignity and respect of all.

As if it weren't clear enough already the values-based tag adds clarity to the Christian crusade focus of this war.

I heard bit of the press conference Bush was giving this morning and he did keep referring to "values-based societies". His example was where every person has a voice and human value and dignity. More along those lines than Christianity per se.

It's clear as day that any time the President says 'values' or 'family values' it's a nod to his Christian evangelical constituency.
