The oil execs who went to Washington last week to answer questions about why the prices are so high, lied. Wow! Crazy I know. They were asked whether they met with Cheney to talk about the energy policy. They all said no, and they all had. Lovely.
Anywho... none of that lying is actionable. Why? How can they lie to Congress and get away with it? Because they weren't sworn in. Odd, that's standard procedure. Makes you wonder if the committee knew they were going to be lied to. It also makes me wonder who was behind the whole 'not swearing in' thing and want to ask them, well, why.
Bush, the Republicans and all of his cronies have set a very high bar for government corruption. They make Nixon and Reagan look like saints.
