What's up with Sony?

Looks like we are going to have to replace the big TV in the house. The 36" I bought about six years ago has been on the blink lately and Sony is no longer supporting it. And this was the flaghip, the flagship, of the Sony tube line at the time! Grrr... All of the other TVs I own have lasted longer.

They know that you will want one of those new fangled HDTVs about now anyway. Why wait until 2007 when the government will break ALL YOUR TVS!?

I can't believe they suckered enough people in Congress to pass that bull. On other hand, I CAN believe it. Amazing trick. I wonder if any one will notice what happened? Probably only when people who just bought a good NON-HDTV find that they are screwed and that the TV that they just brought is broken.
