Jingoism

I believe in branding. I thin that we should present America in ways that would best demonstrate our core values. For example, I don't believe in symbols that tie our flag around a cross. Because we aren't a Christian nation. I don't think Fox News should put a waving flag underneath their logo. Why? Because freedom of the press should ensure that news agencies present both the pro and con viewpoints about what we as Americans do. I also don't think that splashing flags and such all over a squirrel builds brand identity very well.

Righties often criticize liberals for not being jingoistic enough. We are embarrassed when people over emphasize their patriotism or over use the flag. Yeah, I am embarrassed when people decorate a squirrel as a founding father. Let's have some pride. Let's use our flag sparingly, so that when it's presented we know that it's done with honor and taste. Have a little pride people!
