It's been a popular ploy on the right to foist the America is a Christian nation myth since the merger of the social conservative and the backroom cigar fogies. The Treaty of Tripoli, ratified by the entire Congress very early on (which gives clear guidance to the intentions of our founding fathers) is apparently not enough to dissuade some folks. Now the Skeptic Report has chimed in with a great analysis of how far at odds the Ten Commandments are to our Constitution. Indeed.
Thank goodness too. Enforcing the first commandment? Or the second? How exactly would we do that again?
What a joke. I'm glad the loons on the right are finally being shown for the frauds they are. When they were at the apex of their power in 2002 they were a downright scary little bunch. Or, the rhetoric was scary anyway. Now they just look kinda stupid. "Christian nation" my ass. Get a grip. Idiots.
