Double take

Here's that grand ol' Moral Superiority for you.

From the New York Daily News:
With thousands of Republicans set to invade the city this summer, high-priced escorts and strippers are preparing for one grand old party.
Agencies are flying in extra call girls from around the globe to meet the expected demand during the Aug. 30-Sept. 2 gathering at Madison Square Garden.

"We have girls from London, Seattle, California, all coming in for that week," said a madam at a Manhattan escort service. "It's the week everyone wants to work."

"It's going to be big," agreed one operator at a midtown escort service.

Where's the same article from the Boston newspapers? It's bound to be out there somewhere--if not now, then soon!:)

They had the same thing down in Houston for the SuperBowl. I don't think it matters what the politics are, it is the infusion of people and money. Law of supply and demand - more people - more escorts. Hey - everyone "has to make a living"

Oh I'm cool with every one doing their thing. I hope the girls make a ton of money off the republicans. But then I don't consider myself the moral superiority of the rest of the country.

Although I don't disagree with your point about hypocrisies by those who claim to be something and then act in a contrary way, I do think that one group does not solely commit hypocrisies. America is full of hypocrites who aspire to one mind set only to contradict it when pushed to make personal choices.

I do not personally believe that I can judge the actions of another without someone else judging my own actions. We are all exposed to this based on our choices over time and how society changes over time. We cannot escape this conundrum and each of us must decide for ourselves how to live each day.

How one views the article is of course based on personal bias, but there is usually much more to it. I do not think that all those going to the convention or even a majority are going to avail themselves of the increased escort services. To judge all of a group based on the exploits of a portion is an unfortunate mind set.
