Update on Me...

Well I went back to the Dr yesterday, had another breathing treatment and this time she gave me another inhaler, a shot of steroid (in the butt!) and a prescription for the steroid for the rest of the week. I'm still coughing but its definitely better- some how calmer. She called it "Bronchitis induced Asthma" what ever that means. I guess the respiratory infection has given my something akin to Asthma. - oh joy. If I'm not better by friday she wants be back in early morning for a full work-up.

Sounds like you got what I had last spring and summer. It's not fun and I feel your pain. Mine was allergy induced asthma and it's not gone away, despite drugs and shots. It's manageable now, but heaven forbid I forget the Advair even once--I can so tell when I do. At least I'm not on the 500 anymore!:) Good luck with your treatments.

Yikes - you mean this thing could last...

I'm forecasting I have to go in on Friday -as its 12:44 am wed and I'm coughing too much to stay in bed. - I feel like crap from the lack of sleep, and now my chest aches from coughing so much.

I got the allergy-induced asthma, too, when I moved to Nashville. It comes usually every March and October. This year I have it right now. My albuterol inhaler is in my top left desk drawer . . . yuk.

Sorry you're feeling it too. It sucks to not be able to take a deep breath without coughing.

Ah, mine is always in my purse and in my bathroom!

Last time I went into the allergist, he took a nasal sample (a precarious procedure to be sure) and saved it for his class. Apparently, my nasal secretions were impressive in their vast quantity of allergens!:)

That aside, this is no fun and I hope you find the right combination of meds that get it fixed--and soon! The backaches and chestpains from coughing is horrible. The lack of sleep may be worse. But not being able to keep up with Megan is the worst.

My alburteral is in my pocket, but sometimes is in the diaper bag. The dr seems to think this is temporary but then as nothing she's done has given me much relief, I don't hold much hope out for what she tells me. That's not entirely true the steroids have made coughing harder, I want to cough, my body wants be to cough but the coughs are week and don't produce much.

Jack's asthma does seem to be worse depending on the time of year. And he's guaranteed an attack when ever he is near cats. He has his inhalers, and his advair, and clarinex and a few other drugs that he must maintain levels in his body or he starts having asthma attacks like crazy.
