Megan loves to sit at the dinner table. So much so that a simple meal can go on for a couple of hours, with Tears as we try to take the food away. She eats just enough to say she's still eating. Today I messed up and gave her too much food on her plate, so now she's working on an hour long lunch - anyone body else out there with little ones who love to sit at the table, with any ideas of how to hurry her up? |
Wow! Mine run away from the table halfway through dinner! I would love for them to spend a little more time sitting & eating. Maybe the promise of some fun activity when she's all done would speed her along. Manda is using the Kandoo foamy soap and she looks forward to washing her hands after dinner.
Or maybe your cooking is just too good to leave!
Posted by: Jacqueline at August 3, 2005 07:32 AMI know my child is lovely and strange. I wish it was my cooking, but yesterday under my painmeds all I managed to cook was chick-free nuggets and carrot sticks. She sat at the table for an hour and a half. I finally left her and went to bed telling her to come join me when she was done - that was 20 mins before she actually did. She had me ziploc bag the bits of nuggets she had left, before she joined me for an episode of Pooh. The soap was a novelty when I first bought it, but not enough to get her away from food on her plate. I think i'm being punished for my policy of no left overs :)
I don't save left over food period - don't clean your plate just throw it away when your done.
