The Family Stone

Saw the movie "the Family Stone" tonight. and while I really thought over all it was a great flick, I was annoyed that no one not even the previews or the reviewers thought clueing me in (yes its all about me) that it was a movie about loosing ones mom around christmas, was a good idea. It hit really too close to home for comfort, and while I can always use a good cry, its nice to be prepared.

It was funny at times, but more often than not it was filled with those moments where you tear up and don't say enough.

WE ran into the same thing when we saw it last Friday night. We were expecting a light hearted funny movie (which it mostly was in my opinion), but the mom story. And the problem was, we knew it in the beginning of the story that something was wrong with her. The worst part? My parents saw the movie a week before, KNEW we were going to go see it and didn't warn us. So bad. I'm sorry I didn't give you a heads up...my bad!:)

Happy New Year!

Yeah I knew early too - the moment they showed the mom's face looking at the tree with tears, i said oh she's got cancer and is going to die to my friend, who laughed it off and then couldn't believe I was right. Mom had that same look so many times, like she'd be saying to her self this is the last time I do this.
