2 movies to recommend...

I just got back from seeing Thank you for Smoking - which was hysterically funny. The only complaint was the miscasting of the sexy big titted reporter - Katy Homes just didn't cut it - she looks too young and a little deerish and she hasn't even had a boob job let alone have natural big ones - so a conversation earlier on between 2 men about her chest falls flat when the character is introduced and has well nothing. The other flick I saw over the weekend was V for Vendetta which really wowed me - it was thrilling and I was on the edge of my seat through out - no spoilers here just 2 big recommendations! |
We saw V for Vendetta on Tuesday night. I did not have high expectations. I did enjoy it more than I thought I would. There were a lot of little things that would trip me up and pull me out of the movie. I also thought a lot of the direction was heavy handed. The point is right out in the open, so there was no need to hit me over the head with it so much.
On the other hand, it was so well cast, that I was very much along for the ride for most of it. I also did appreciate that they did not succumb to the temptation to go completely cliche at the end.
Bottom line, I had some issues, but pretty much enjoyed the flick.
