Beef its whats for dinner....

When I gave up being a vegetarian, I swore I would only eat chicken. Then last thanksgiving I added Turkey. a little over a month ago I took a cooking class and they cooked and served pork and lamb. both were delicious. recently i've added in beef. In South Carolina I had ribs for the first time, then last night I grilled a steak for the first time in 14 years. It was incredible. I put the left overs in the fridge and then spent the night dreaming about them. Can you guess what I had for breakfast?

The funny thing is the last few times I tried to donate blood I was turned away for being slightly anemic. Since I started with the beef, i've felt my energy level rise. I'm guessing I was lacking the iron. I due to donate blood in a week, i'll report back if they turn me away.

Man oh man oh man!! It's like falling into a funnel! I remember after being vegetarian all through high school, I had one tiny slice of roast beef . . . being a vegetarian was history! And I have tried (seriously tried!!) twice to do it again. I'm fine until, um, Memorial Day cookouts . . . Thanksgiving . . . I think it must be like giving up smoking! I know that when I did it the first time, it was easy after the first couple months, but I can't seem to make it over that hump again!

Sorry for the memory splash all over your blog! I hope your iron levels rise - something good must come of this! :)

what about Megan? Does she get to try meat now?:)

Hope the visit with you dad goes well!

our stance with Megan has always been she can eat meat when ever she wants. We started her out vegetarian, and would any future siblings. She usually turns her nose up at it but she did try bacon a little while ago.

I think I mentioned that a Dr. told Shorey to start eating some meat again when she could not shake a cold, and she's not been sick since.

I understand (mostly) why people chose to be vegetarians, but DAMN, meat is yummy.
