Lady Killers ... is here finally

That means I don't have to sit through that stupid preview one more time. I will admit the first time I saw it it peeked my curiosity. But it has played before each movie I've seen for the past 3 months! I probably won't see it now that the critics have panned it, but I am glad its finally opening so that I can see previews for something else.

Spam or not spam...

I got some spam today with the following text at the bottom of the message...

"This mailing has been performed by Internet Marketing Solutions,
1719 University Avenue, Bronx NY 10453 USA,
in compliance with the "CAN-SPAM Act of 2003",
approved and signed by the president of
The United States of America on Dec. 16, 2003.
For this reason, this email cannot be considered SPAM."

So now if Spam says its not spam its not spam.. yet it was unsolicited email sent to an account that doesn't really exist (info@muttmansion.) I don't know about you but if it smells like spam and looks like spam its spam. Mail agreed it had filtered it into trash. I was curious what spam there was when I was downloading 8 messages and none made it into my in box.

Strike God

The supreme court is hearing arguments today on the pledge of allegiance and the phrase "One Nation Under God" I for one hope they find for the atheists and polytheists in our country who don't believe in one god and are denied the right to a simple patriotic act by their own feelings and beliefs. We should be allowed to be patriotic first and foremost. This is our country, whether your Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Taoist, Hindu, Agnostic or Atheist. We are above all else Americans.

The words "One Nation under God" were not part of the original pledge and were added in 1954. I'm surprised it took 50 years for this to come to the supreme court. We are a nation of immigrants of all faiths from all other nations who originally came here and started this country to rid our selves of Religious persecution, yet Americans are persecuted every day for not being apart of the Christian majority. The Supreme Court was good enough to hear this case, now we can only hope the get it right.

Another New Cutherell

Hailey Michele was born this morning to my brother David and his wife Michelle. With the birth of Elizabeth Michele on Feb 2 to my bother Mike and his Partner Missy, that makes a total of 5 grand daughters that have mom's name as a middle name. Mom would be so proud.

Congratulations to the whole Cutherell Clan on its continued growth. Speedy recovery to Michelle and Speedy homecoming to Hailey.

Great day!

Today Megan and I had an excellent day. First we had our day at Little Gym. Megan absolutely loves going to the gym and playing on all the equipment. She absolutely brightens up when we get there and she throughly enjoyed all the activities. She is a little obsessed with the water-fountain though.

Afterwards we went and had a picnic at the rides park at the Oakland Zoo. Megan enjoyed the carousal and then after lunch we stood in line for 40 mins to ride the train. Ok the line was no fun, but the train was great! Afterwards we went in to see the camels and elephants and wow ONe of the elephants was in the water and really close. Megan stared at it while and then it splashed her. She was entranced. I hope I got some good pictures. Anyway we stood there for at least 20 mins while she got repeatedly splashed and the elephant "Lucy" begged for Apple bites and she sprayed water at her keeper. When Megan finally had her fill we headed to the car past the camels.

...well the camels were in the middle of having sex, and the female on the bottom was moaning loudly. The male was pumping and frothing at the mouth. I took a few pictures and figure Jack will post my camel porn later on when he downloads the camera. It was a really funny looking sight.

Megan is now napping and I'm relaxing!

miles to the gallon

I just checked and I'm getting 20.13181019332162 miles to the gallon which is pretty good. Wish it was better as gas is so expensive. For those of you in cheaper states, I just paid 2.059 at the cheapest gas station I could find. Your average big brand name store is 2.199 for the basic unleaded.

what are the prices where you live? make me cry...

A tad annoying

So I woke up this morning to the sounds of Megan just beginning to wake. I looked at the clock 8:30am. I rolled out of bed took a shower, got dressed and started coffee, and a load of laundry. Megan was really awake now so I went in and got her all dressed figuring it was about 9. We came out to the living room and started nursing, I flipped on the TV and - its only 7:30 - Jack's alarm clock is wrong and its much earlier than I thought. I guess I should be happy to have an extra hour this morning, but somehow I'm feeling gipped. I thought I had gotten to sleep in alittle.

summer has sprung

we missed spring, though forecasters swear its still winter here. Megan and I enjoyed a day at the farm after our Little gym workout. We walked around and saw all the animals, the cows were even nice enough to stick there heads through and eat the clover from where we were standing, so Megan saw a big ol' cow head up close, and said "di di" which is what she calls Sadie :)

Tonight we went out for Sushi to beat the heat, and the waitresses loved that Megan ate whole meal of soybeans (edemame), Agedashi tofu, and Inari Sushi. They said most parents pick up some BK from across the parking lot for kids.

Megan's out of the bath and free so I need to go but at least I finally got to blog.

Gross

I just ate at Red Robin on wed. Had a great Bonsai burger with a boca patty but I wasn't looking for body parts... Eck!

I voted

Jack came home from work, Megan was just up from her nap so we loaded up the stroller and walked to the polling place. Megan has been eyeing my "I voted" sticker ever since. I went ahead and voted for Dean since I really liked a lot of what he had to say. I'm hoping if he gets enough votes the democratic party will acknowledge his opinions on medical care etc. Kerry will be on the ticket and that's fine, he's got my vote in the general election. Most importantly we need to get rid of Bush and his notion of his own entitlement.

my ideal candidate

I went to www.selectsmart.com and was told that based on my views on specific issues the following are my candidate choices:

1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%)
2. Clark, Retired General Wesley K., AR - Democrat (75%)
3. Sharpton, Reverend Al - Democrat (75%)
4. Kucinich, Rep. Dennis, OH - Democrat (74%)
5. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat (70%)
6. Moseley-Braun, Former Senator Carol, IL - Democrat (68%)
7. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (68%)
8. Edwards, Senator John, NC - Democrat (66%)
9. Gephardt, Rep. Dick, MO - Democrat (63%)
10. Lieberman, Senator Joe, CT - Democrat (43%)
11. Bush, President George W. - Republican (19%)

I love that Al Sharpton is high on my list when I didn't really think he and I had much in common. And I'm not surprised bush is at the bottom of my list, I'm just wondering how he managed to get a 19% out of me. I think Clark isn't even on the ballot any more, so even though he would apparently be my number one pick, he's out. Maybe I'll go with number 2 or 3... funny I thought I liked Dean but he's forth and no longer running.

14 right

My best oscar picking ever. Jack and I tied so what ever we were betting for we get to split. Also means it doesn't matter that I saw all those films since Jack only saw a few.

I had a fun night at a friends house and met some really nice people. Jack hung out at home with Megan and I thought he was going to have company but they bailed. But I think he was happy to have some time alone once Megan when down.
