Megan is 4 today - I can't believe it she's grown up so fast. We took cupcakes to school today and they had a little party at snack time. Then we had lunch with one of Megan's friends and her mom. Home for quiet time and then Megan opened all her gifts. Thank you grandpa and mumsie for the books, and Uncle Doodle bug and Aunt Missy, Justin and Elizabeth for build - a bear!. Thank you Tia Jenny and Uncle Bomb, Cooper and Jack for the princess pillow and the princess towel. She got lots of neat prezzies from her friends and we gave her a movie, some slippers, a pop-up castle and Jack's space ship console.
After playing and then watching her new movie, we headed out for Sushi at her request. Daddy and his girl then headed over to get Ice Cream while I went to get supplies for our playgroup halloween party tomorrow.
Too much party - she just woke up throwing up - I guess the party will have to move from our house.
i'll update later.
He's not named cause there is always a chance an owner might arrive but we are falling in love

Megan today asked me what my mother's name was ... Michele I said, and her middle name? Turner...
Finally she asked what was grandma's last name ... Cutherell... We got home and Megan called little man Cutherell. She's been calling him that all afternoon. Its very cute.
Megan's b-day party yesterday was wonderful - it really went off well. The bounce house arrived early, Pizza's were done when Jack went early to pick them up so he was back in time for the party to start. The kids loved making crowns - which was the art project, and the food that I did make was gobbled up (Salad, Hummus, Fruit tray and veggies).
Jack's cake was spectacular. The pink Castle was a fulfillment of Megan's dreams and the princesses sat very regally on top.
The cute moment of the day was when a very cute very small puppy walked right up the red carpet (ie table cloth I ran down the front walk) and into the party. We popped him in a bathroom till after the party but after he really worked hard at getting us to fall in love. No sign of an anxious owner but we aren't claiming him yet - i'll report him to the shelter on Tuesday when the open, and we'll put some signs up - till then he's an uninvited but very welcome guest.
First board meeting last night - went out after for coffee and pie stayed up till after 12 -am exhausted. Just finished typing up the minutes, feels good to be using my brain again - for things not related to princesses, dora and Legos.
Have been swimming a mile 3 times a week for the last month. Feeling great and things are loose -rings falling off, pants baggy yet not a pound down - kind of depressing - yes i know building muscle - still.
Getting ready for the big party on Saturday - Megan's turning 4! We have a bounce house coming, along with an art project - crowns for all. Pizza's have been ordered, Cake is planned. Its going to be fun.
Got my car fixed today - 90,000 mile check up, 4 new tires and new brakes - its driving like a dream.
Megan had science class on tuesday - all about bug eaters. She finally touched an animal - a toad! - refused to touch the tarantula - though I can't blame her I did - very cool.
Movie club on sunday was a hoot - another blog entry coming.
Working on a sweatshirt for myself - made 3 now - 2 for Gee and one for Jack - My turn. Every-time I goto the fabric store I get overwhelmed with the possibilities.
Took Megan to the SJ Children's Museum after school. It had a few new exhibits and was gloriously empty.
Both Law and Order SVU and Criminal minds have a story line with a rapist who is trying to get women pregnant. Different channels same plot line!
Oso doesn't kiss us. Anyone who met Ripely and even Sadie knows we're dog kiss people, but what kills us about Oso is he kisses anyone else who walks through the door - including workmen, friends and babysitters. I liken it to his begging for someone to take him from this hell. Jack says maybe he respects us too much.
So I did a google search and came up with...
How do I get my dog to start kissing? Do you think since he wouldn't kiss me for steak or chicken on my cheek - peanut butter would actually work? Any dog lovers out there got an idea for us?
They replaced less parts but it took them 4 days longer which meant over the weekend I was laptop free. I finally broke down and loaded hearts on Jack's machine so I could play - but damn its great to have my own laptop back.
its the simple things in life :)
Jack and I did the swim a thon today. He did it in 44 mins and I did it in 47. I'm pretty proud of myself. Along with finishing a mile, I raised $383. dollars for a great cause.
Thank you to all my supporters!
Tonight I had my Mom's club end of year appreciation dinner. It was at Champion Teppanyaki in Fremont. I was late RSVPing like I didn't do it right away but waited a few days so I ended up at the last seating at 8. Which means I was starving when they finally seaated me at 8:30. I met a really nice mom who has a daughter just alittle younger than Megan and loves to sew. We chatted all night long and swapped numbers in the end.
But what shocks me, absolutely suprises the hell out of me is that I volunteered! To be on the board! all Next year! - I'm now the secretary for the FUN mother's club.
Megan is sick - she's stuffed up and coughing so no school today. No swimming today either for me. But I will be taking my laptop back to apple. When they fixed it the last time I think they left a wire loose cause I loose my monitor sometimes. - Thank goodness its still under warranty. I made a genius bar appointment for 11:20 am so we'll head over around 10:40 and then after have lunch at CPK.
Then back home for more rest for Megan.
She's already informed me she'll be better by tomorrow.
