Update on end of year barf fest

Megan woke up fairly early and cuddled with me who was still trying to sleep. She wanted some water which I let her have at 9 am since that was around 6 hours from last puke. It stayed down for 20 mins, long enough for me to shower, and then I had my own bedding to clean.

She watched some TV, then asked to play Wii only when we got out there she said she just wanted to watch so I played some golf and when I realized she was passing out I switched over to TV, and carried her back to her bed- she slept for a couple of hours and woke with a fever so I chanced it and gave her Tylenol. She kept it down and with in an hour was a new person. She moved to my bed again and watched more tv. By early afternoon she'd held down a little water too.

Tonight she had plain rice and a piece of toast and seems to be feeling 70% better. I'll know more after another nights sleep.

Rough Night

All parents have gone through it - Megan started throwing up last night at 11, and continued every 30 mins till 2, she took an hour off and then did it one last time at 3:30. We're all tired out. Megan is really cranky but feeling better I think

I took a nyqil last night since I got a cold for my birthday on wed. I took it to get a good night sleep - but when the screaming and barfing started I managed to wake up and do what needed to be done - namely change sheets and clean & comfort child. I think it safe to say we'll be spending the day at home.

back in the swim

The pool was glorious this morning - crystal clear and the water was so smooth - There was only one other person in the whole pool when I started and I had a lane to myself until my last 4 laps. Even when I left there was only 6 people in there.

Jack gave me a iron man watch so I was able to count not only my laps but also my actual swimming time - I always thought that since I did stop occasionally to catch my breath or chit chat with fellow swimmers that if I swam for an 1 1/4 hours then i'd have a mile - well today I did a mile in 41 mins which means i've been doing way more than a mile for some time. It was a tough work out since it was the first one back in a week and while i had great plans to get on the elliptical trainer or walk around Lake Elizabeth, and meet with a personal trainer - non of which I did during my week off. But it feels so great to be back in the pool again!

So I have this week on and then next week off - but next week we'll be in Oregon with a few hikes. Then we get back in time for the swim around the Great Barrier Reef - 37 mile swim Jack and I are going to do starting in January.

happy early birthday to me!

Jack threw me an awesome party yesterday. Most of my mom friends came, along with a couple of others. We had lots of yummy food, a really cute home made cake, face painting for the kids, a tarot card reader, and best of all a really great masseur. I got a 30 minute massage at the beginning of the party and then every one else got to disappear for 15 mins or so and get a mini massage. She was really great. I will definitely be going back to her again some time soon.

The Wii was also a big hit, most of the kids gave it a try and 2 older kids went crazy making people for it and now we have lots of avatars.

Update on the ball mitzvah

He's out of surgery and just fine. Some baby teeth were also removed and he was micro-chipped. We get to get him after 4- they are watching him until then.

Oh my sweet little Duncan

snip snip

today is the day - as a friend calls it - "Duncan's Ball mitzvah"

I feel sorry for the little guy - he had no idea when Jack came and got him from beneath the blankets this morning to take him to the vets.

Update later.

the Apron

Here is the Apron I made for the apron exchange. Mine was the only home made one.

Modeled by the winner of it who is 7 months pregnant!

It was really lovely party. I had a massage, then I had way too much champagne some yummy food and then a pedicure, followed by more food drink and the apron exchange. I had lots of great conversations with interesting and beautiful women.
