Sunday Sunday Sunday!

Megan and I talked Jack into heading down to Great America for a few hours on Sunday since I'm a big chicken and don't like rides - Megan would be able to ride lots of them with him. We got down there by 10 am when they opened but discovered they only opened part of the park then and we had to wait a full hour for all the rides to be up and running. One Ride that was open was Psycho Mouse. While standing in line for this ride, Megan befriended a girl named Lauren who was there with her Nanny Jen (Hi Lauren Hi Jen!) They all chatted and enjoyed the ride, before heading in different directions. We went over to Survivor the Ride and the Grizzly - Megan wasn't too sure about Survivor but really liked the Grizzly (an old fashion wooden roller coaster!).

We wondered back over to Nickelodeon central and Jack and Megan rode the roller-coaster there. By then we decided it was time for lunch and so we headed over to the Nike Cafe - only to find Lauren and Jen finishing up there lunch too. They headed out to do a ride while we ate and then the girls decided they wanted to ride the Nickelodeon roller coaster together. Several times on there and we headed over to the Ragging Rapids. I ran out to our car to get our swim gear and then we all changed and played in Boomarang Bay -where we tried out the wave pool, the Lazy river and water slides- We ended up hanging out together through the rest of the day - parting in the parking lot - where the now good friends - Megan and Lauren hugged goodbye.

Here are some pictures from our adventure... enjoy...

Just me and Gee...

Megan and I decided to head down to Great America today by ourselves. We had a great time. Megan wore her sandals which gave her the needed boast to qualify for 48 inch rides. So she got to ride on the big swings in the front and she and I braved a flying in circles ride while mommy's tummy flips. We headed down at lunch so we grabbed a quick bite and then watched the show "Endless Summer on Ice." We were pleasantly surprised to find one of Megan's Ice Skating instructors to be on the cast. Megan has now added being in an ice skating show like Rebecca on her list of what she wants to do in the future!.

After we headed back to the front and around to the other side of the park where Megan enjoyed her favorite ice cream treat ...

Then we caught the last 15 mins of the Sing with Dora show where Megan immediately joined the group in front and danced the chicken dance with Dora...

and here's a close up of the girl...

Wii Fit Update...

So I'm down 6 lbs! since I started using the Wii Fit nearly every day SInce Jack brought it home May 24th! 6lbs in one month!

I average 40 mins of aerobics on it and this is activity I would not have done with out the Wii Fit. But most importantly of all - my Wii Fit Age was today 23!

ADDITIONAL: Someone just emailed me and asked if I was dieting as well. The answer is no. I have cut way back on coffee, but I drink decaf anyway. Instead i've been drinking black teas. I've also cut way back on diet soda - but I still have them - just not as much as I used to - this is all in an effort to drink more water - which I'm been trying to drink at least 4-6 8 oz glasses of water a day. I've also stopped eating after 8 pm period - no watermelon, no ice cream, no cookies or chocolate. I still eat those things, I just have to consciously eat them before 8 pm. But I'm still eating the same food I ate before - like yesterday. Usually I have a bowl of cereal for breakfast with my tea but Jack brought me home a donut so I had that with my tea instead. For lunch we went to Togos and I had a chicken salad wrap. I usually eat the Italian sandwich but wanted to try something new. Then last night for dinner I made Roast Chicken (Megan's favorite way - covered in garlic and rosemary) and herbed noodles with peas. One of the life guards at the pool gave Megan some M & M's and when she asked me if it was OK I said only if you give me some too - they were really small snack bags but I ate them. So you see - no diet.

Favorite Haunts

I spend a bit of time every day just reading my favorite blogs and sites. I thought I would compile a list of my favorites but not put them in any order. I won't include usual reads like Jack's blog, or CNN. Just some you may or may not have discovered in your surfing...

1. The Daily Coyote A blog from a woman who's adopted a coyote and is raising him with her cat in the middle of no where. Excellent read and great pictures of cuteness.

2. Every sunday I read my dose of Secrets at Post a secret dot com. I'm tempted to send one in but I don't really have any secrets. I pretty much tell any one everything.

3. Panda's Thumb provides me with my daily news about evolution.

4. The Disney Blog gives a great bit of disney news.

road rage...

As a person this story is about, I think its utter bullshit. I do love my car and plan on driving it until it dies, but that has little to do with the many bumper stickers on the back. I'm so not going to defend my car - that just isn't me.

Its funny the responses I get from my bumper sticker wall. I get lots of thumbs up and honks and smiles. That is the majority, but every once and a while I get a birdie or someone races ahead of me to cut me off and then drives really slow - those are the people that suffer from road rage.

Poker fun

Despite Jack being out of town I went a head and hosted poker monday night. The usual gang was there with a couple of exceptions. Jack even joined us through the wonders of Ichat. My lap top sat at the head of the table and his chip stack sat in front of him. We had to hold up his cards so he could see them. And despite his kicking our asses we never once looked at his cards, or swiped his chips.

He was the big winner for the night. And I was the big looser - so we broke even.

Summer

Our summer has started with a busy weekend. Its included a birthday party at Pump it up, her last gym class at the previously blogged about. Last night Josephine and Pam spent the night with me and Megan. The girls played all afternoon and after dinner we got them to bed and then Pam and I indulged in a few cocktails and watched Death at a Funeral - and laughed our asses off. Very funny movie. We ended the evening surfing Youtube including Yes We Can and No We Can't a spoof on the first.

Here's a pic I took of Megan at the party - in a big blow up throne ... my little princess.

so very sad...

today (sniff sniff) is Megan's last day of Kindergarten.

As I walked her into the kindergarten playground for the last time, and she took her place in line - I actually got teary eyed. My little girl is getting so big.

gas prices

Megan and I went to the grocery store after school today and we passed 3 stations - 2 where over 4.50 a gallon and the other usually 10-20 cents behind the others was already at 4.44 - I'd say 5 dollars a gallon will be here before the summer is up and probably by July 1.

Its good though - I'm thinking alot more about combining trips. Also We are looking for a new office for Jack that is closer to home. Right now his office is in Fremont which is 9.9 miles away. Since we rent the space its wasteful to have an office so far away when there are plenty of closer places. Now I just have to find him one. Craigslist here I come...

Sex and the city...

I snuck off to see Sex and the City today - my last movie of the school year. I really enjoyed it. I was a hugh fan of the show, and the movie really captured the spirit of it. It was long, and non-fans will be bored. For those who never saw the show on HBO and only became a fan when it stream lined to regular channels, you may be a little shocked - but not much. I remember at least one episode of show that was more risque then the movie.
