What does this answer?

This gives you some recipes for making Origami chopstick holders.

What's the problem?

My chopsticks are sitting on the table.

What's the answer?

We will make an Origami chopstick holder, like one of these:

Here is a step by step process to make one of these holders:

Step 1

We start with the chopsticks.

Step 2

Pull out the chopsticks and clean up the paper so that it's nice and flat.

Step 3

Fold it in half length-wise.

Step 4

Complete the half fold and straighten up the edge.

Step 5

Now fold it in half length-wise again.

Step 6

And straighten up at fold.

Step 7

Now fold in in half across the center.

Step 8

And straighten up that fold.

Step 9

Now fold one corner in towards the open bottom of the peice of paper. It's import that you fold towards where the paper seperates and not towards where the paper coverges to the point.

Step 10

Now fold the other side just like that.

Step 11

This is what it should look like.

Step 12

Now undo the folds and open up one side like this.

Step 13

Push that in to make a little stand.

Step 14

Do the same thing on the other side. This is what you should have at the end.

Finished

This is what it looks like with the chopsticks on board.

Now that you have seen one variation on a fold. Here are some other variations:

Chopstick boat

Here is a little dragon boat for your chopsticks.

Double breasted version

This version has one hump for each stick! Snazzy!

The Ramp

This one is more Bauhaus than practical. It's nifty though.

Enjoy your practical Origami.
